I was the Parent Helper in Bug's class at preschool on Halloween.
She goes to a cooperative preschool, so a parent is always in the classroom. With a class her size this means 6-8 parent help days per set of parents for the school year, which isn't bad at all. It's actually super fun! Especially on a holiday!
Her preschool also has a very *strict* healthy snack policy, which is great but can present a challenge on a day like Halloween when so many of the really neat snacks and treats center around chocolate and other candy. But, The Great Pinterest came to my rescue and I was able to put together a super fun, semi-spooky, completely healthy snack for a bunch of the cutest 5 year olds I've ever met.
Presenting!
Mummy Pizza!
Spooky fruit cups! (they have bats and spiders on the cupcake holders, I just put fruit inside instead of cake!)
Salty Bones! (Bug loved making these, they are just the canned breadsticks, you cut the ends and roll them into bony knobs)
Our awesome snack table, courtesy of the Dollar Store (plates, bat straws, table covers, witches cauldrons for the salty bones!)
Getting ready for snack.
The bat straws doubled as whistles apparently. The teachers were not amused.
Yummmmm!
Eventually I am going to find the camera cord and share pictures of all the kids on Halloween and their pumpkins. But I took all these photos on my phone, so it will have to do for now!
I am obsessed with totally love Pinterest. It made me look like a very cool and creative Mama for the day!
